The birth of The Humans

About the songs composed by Michelle Neves.

Michelle Neves has composed the tune for two songs on the Unpop Album: “the humans” and “on the edge of love”, a peak  in rock’n'roll, and which is published on the front page  of our website. I will speak here, briefly, on the process of one of them.

I had handed over to her the lyrics of “the humans” so that she could study and evaluate its English version with  a tune that had already been created.  She, however,  created, while inhabiting the inner regions where she dwelt for some days, new music for the lyrics and kept her creation hidden from the production and director’s eyes. I, however,  suspected (and said so to Wayner Nunes a number of times), that Michelle was ruminating something artistically  on that lyrics.  When I brought for examination the recording which had been created at the recording studio, she listened to just the beginning of it,  which was contrary to her usual attitude, and said to me that the music was not so, rejecting it. Later that week, he sent us, at last, an email, saying or singing  how things should be for those lyrics.

At the bottom of her chapel, children’s cries and  birds’ songs are heard, which leads us to infer that  Michelle Neves externalized the song somewhere  heavenly. After that, with Wayner Nunes’s guitar and arrangement, it was proved that the existential place of “the  humans ” was really the heart of Michelle Neves. The definitive version of this song will only be available on the Unpop Album.  However, I will publish here  soon, the “draft” that started it all.  A good  outline is more than halfway to a good song.
